Stewie, do you miss the physical style of hockey? I know I do! It’s so sterile and passion-less today. Today’s hockey, and life in general, are run by people who believe everything needs to be settled by some arbitrary board of idiots making unilateral decisions at their own whim. I guess all the wimpy lawyers created that with lawsuit after lawsuit. I prefer the days where getting out of line provided opportunities for an “attitude adjustment”! It was settled quickly, and messages sent! Life like hockey was a lot better then!! |

Another great story about the "CARLSONS" AND SLAP SHOT! As a season ticket-holder for the "BROOME DUSTERS " I saw quite a lot of games that Stewie played, and of course the Johnstown Jets, Syr. Blazers, etc . One time the Dusters had an away game and the TEAM bus driver left Binghamton heading for the wrong Johnstown... (north) instead of South to PA. After driving an hour or so, someone finally noticed, and turned the bus around... they had to start the game a few hours late, but I still was able to listen to the radio broadcast til well after MIDNIGHT!
Those minor league games were the most fun! |
